Pink’s pink shirt

TP Pink shirt

Launched: 1984

Designer James, Peter and John Mullen

History: Thomas Pink was started selling its signature classic shirts in London in 1984. Founded by Irish brothers James, Peter and John Mullen it took its name from the famed 18th Century Mayfair tailor, Thomas Pink, who designed and made the scarlet red hunting coat – always referred to as “Pink” after the designer – as worn by huntsmen.

In 2007, Thomas Pink became part of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey Group (LVMH).

Our featured image from Pinks current collection – the Oscar Plain – is inspired those shirts that first launched the Pinks brand back in the mid-1980. This classic dates from 1984 and is still a beautiful fine Italian two-fold 100s cotton and is proudly made in the United Kingdom. I had several of these!
